We had to go through a long tunnel completely in the dark but the pay off was we saw lots of glow worms in the roof.

Waiotapu thermal wonderland - you just have to do it - very impressive if you dont mind the H2S fumes. Quite like old chemistry days.

A view on the way up Mount Tauhara a little peak at the back of Taupo - You had to fight your way through the bush to get to the top. It was quite steep being volcanic.

A really good day out - we got back in 6hr20min and had a lovely birthday dinner at the Italian Restaurant in Turangi.
A couple of pics from Wellington - The beehive parliament building and old St Pauls a wonderful old style wooden church that used to be the Wellington Cathedral until very recently when a new concrete horror was built.
